Well, today is…well, a day! A day of what?
I’m not quite sure how to feel about it. There’s a flurry of emotions I’ve gone through since waking this morning. Happy, sad, anxiety, pride, joy, you name it!
Lets rewind for a moment.
Yesterday we found out Trucker Hubby would be home in time for today’s momentous event. This was huge news considering our history with trucking interfering with family plans. (We’ve had to reschedule vacations, even our wedding, because of a break down on the road, problems with shippers or receivers, and a host of other “surprises” on the road!) I was able to breathe a sigh of relief. Just knowing I wouldn’t have to go through the first day of school alone with my baby was fantastic plus I knew hubby REALLY wanted to be here for it.
WOW. My Labor Day weekend has been very VERY busy. Here’s what’s been going on at casa de la Clark:
Today is trucker hubby’s birthday. I love him so much and he’s THE greatest husband ever. I’m sure you’ll argue that yours is THE greatest hubby but trust me…
…mine totally is the BESTEST HUBBY ever!
Happy Birthday Baby!
One of the advantages hubby has with his job is where he gets to eat lunch!
What’s your lunchtime view look like?
This is a trucker and his wife’s NIGHTMARE! Hubby snapped this photo on the road earlier this week. We don’t know who caused the accident or who was involved. We have no way to know for sure but we prayed everyone involved walked away with minimal injuries.

Hubby’s been gone since last Monday on his new job. It’s been a VERY long week. The kids miss Daddy and I miss my husband. Hopefully, hubby will be home by tomorrow night or Wednesday morning at the latest. (Cross your fingers and say a prayer please!)
Stocking a truck with the basics is the smart way to start hubby on the his trucker career but don’t forget to add a few homey touches. Things to make your man feel connected to the family he’s so many miles away from. Pictures, keepsakes, trinkets, and the like are excellent ideas but I want to add something a little different.
Hubby’s new job started this week. He’s gone back to over the road truck driving. Neither of us are thrilled with the time he’ll spend away from home but at least it will pay the bills!
Outfitting a new truck can be quite a daunting task. Especially if you’ve new to the profession. A properly stocked truck can reduce your out of pocket expenses commonly seen on the road as well as make the trip more comfortable. As the wife and daughter of truck drivers, I’ve got unique insight on the profession. If you or your significant other is considering a career as a truck driver or owner operator, here’s a few money saving supplies and strategies to help give you a smooth start.
