A few weeks ago I received a new product you may have seen advertised on television to help clean the outdoor grill grate. The Grill Daddy is a new gadget that promises to “clean like a mother!”
About the Grill Daddy.
The Grill Daddy (www.grilldaddy. net) is a steam powered grill-cleaning tool that sanitizes grills and eliminates the burnt on food, grease and dirt. Cleaning grills can be a difficult and time-consuming task but the alternative is far worse. Unwashed racks can house bacteria that could contaminate food and leave an unsanitary and bad taste.
Utilizing specially designed stainless-steel brushes, the Grill Daddy releases water as users brush, hitting the grill and turning to steam while rinsing away unsanitary debris.
My experience with the Grill Daddy.
Since hubby is the grill-master in our home, I had him test drive this one.
We use a propane grill so normally he just turns the flame on really high to burn off any gunk from the grill’s grate. If it needed scraping, he normally uses steel wool or wadded up aluminum foil. This worked okaaaay! There was still a little residue on the grate but the heat killed all the germs and there didn’t seem to be any issue with our meat sticking to the grill so I wasn’t overly concerned.
Again, I don’t use the grill. Fire and gas is his domain! ;D
When the Grill Daddy arrived, hubby was excited to give it a try. Of course, that’s when all the rainy nasty weather hit our area. And it didn’t seem to let up for weeks!!!
FINALLY, he got to give the Grill Daddy a good test drive!
He liked the feel of the gadget in his hands. The placement of the grips made it easy to move the steel bristles over the grate while applying the necessary pressure to remove the burnt on gunky mess.
The water reservoir holds PLENTY of H2O so he was able to clean the grill without having to stop and refill the device.
Hubby had no complaints about the product. From my viewpoint while photographing the cleaning process, I thought it might be a bit (just a bit) more effective if there were a few more steel bristles along the head of the gadget. Nevertheless, the Grill Daddy got the job done. It’s the Mack Daddy of clean!
