Christmas Miracles

We had a few "miracles" this holiday season! We actually had one "walking on water" type miracle that I'll talk about in moment. Our first miracle was the fish Santa left for the kids. The boys were simply amazed at the "miraculous" appearance of the fish tank with three goldfish and a snail Santa dubbed Gary (for the Spongebob fan of the house). Of course the natural assumption is Santa set up the tank before he left the North Pole but here's where it earns miracle status: the tank was in Joey's room covered in dust on his dresser long deserted of any inhabitants! Joey is still stumped at how Santa got his tank out of his room Christmas night, cleaned up and filled with fish ;) The real miracle was he didn't notice it was gone a few nights beforehand!!!

The second miracle of the holiday season was more of a mommy miracle moment. Joey's gaming with the new Nintendo DS and Daniel's watching Spongebob playing with his new blocks and I'm trying to capture the magical moments on film. We're watching the Spongebob episode where Sandy told Spongebob the story of Santa. The episode follows Spongebob's first Christmas in Bikini Bottom with all the excitement that goes along with it. We were at the part where Spongebob was disappointed in not getting a gift from Santa after waiting up all night. After seeing the disappointment in the yellow sponges eyes, Squidword dressed as Santa to give him a gift and restore his childlike joy. Of course Spongebob shared the great news with everyone and immediately all of the Bikini Bottom citizens lined up for their gift too. This was about the time Joey looked up from his gaming, said "That's the meaning of Christmas" and immediately burried his head back into his game. Of course being a nosy mom and wondering what makes my kids tick, I asked "WHAT was the meaning of Christmas?" I figured Joey was going to say something like toys or candy or something similar. I was blown away when he looked up from his new Nintendo DS and simply said "Giving" and went right back to gaming!

Our final miracle is the "walking on water" kind. My wonderful hubby, Rick, is the herd manager at a dairy farm. He brought home this beautiful calico kitten that survived a gunshot. It passed just under her skin near her shoulder. Despite being shot, she's very friendly and super cuddly. We're all very excited to welcome a new member to the family!
