Ruby, our furry four-legged friend, has a problem.
A barking problem!
This is why I was really excited to try the Bark Off. It works by sending an high frequency sound each time Ruby barks. The ultrasonic sound it sends is suppose to grab the dog’s attention and disrupt the barking pattern. Since it’s activated by the dog’s barking, I don’t worry about it affecting her hearing.
Bark Off has a 20 foot range for the sound to reach the poochie’s ears. I had a difficult time finding a location close enough to Ruby for this product to work well outdoors. She has more than 20 feet to roam outside this might not be the best product to use when you’re not present. When I placed the Bark Off in my pocket, I noticed Ruby would not bark as much on
our walks if she saw other dogs. It seems this product works BUT you have to be sure the dog is within the 20 foot range. It may even work better indoors since there’s not the buzz of outdoor noises to compete with the ultrasonic sound either but I really couldn’t say for sure since we didn’t use this inside.
We were also send a Crazy Critter for Ruby to try as well. Crazy Critters are a stuffing free toy in the image of a fox or raccoon. This toy is extremely durable! It’s withstood being outside during thunderstorms, chewed on, buried and an assortment of other doggie tortures Ruby inflicts and it’s still in one piece! I admit, I’m quite surprised at the amount of “pain” it’s endured and other than some mud and dirt, it is in great shape a month later.
