Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes Are On The Way

Changes are on the way for my family yet again.

Since the day after Christmas my family has gone from one roller coaster ride to the next. Starting with hubby’s work related back injury, we found ourselves navigating Minnesota’s worker’s compensation system. Couple this with endless piles of WC paperwork with a variety of physical therapies and constantly evolving prognosis, things became frustrated and complicated to say the least. FINALLY, the general consensus was lower back surgery was necessary to give my husband the best shot at life with minimal pain.

Nearly a year after the Microdiscectomy he was released to full work status. HOORAY! Since his employer “laid him off” for reasons “unrelated” to his injury, there was no job to go back to. We started navigating Minnesota’s unemployment benefit system. Surprising this wasn’t too difficult since it’s mostly done online. They have the telephone option for folks without internet access but thankfully we have the internet! Praise God for the internet!

Now things are changin once again! Hubby’s going back to truck driving. We’re not sure if he will do this long term since he’s gotten use to seeing us every day but it will provide for our family. Today he’s off to Fargo to get started on the mountain of paperwork the trucking industry requires and the endless safety tapes he has to watch.
