Kid Approved Smoothies

I've never been a big smoothie maker. Not sure why other than it never occurs to me to make them. Earlier this week, I had a batch of berries getting close to trash time when the idea of a smoothie hit me. Off to the kitchen I dashed to make good use of some berries, juice, and yogurt all getting dangerously close to trash time! I'm so glad the idea of smoothies hit me when it did, otherwise I would have wasted all those tastefully terrific ingredients.

My smoothies were a big hit! The kids loved it-actually they drank most of it leaving only a little for mom! The sad part (other than only getting a taste of the berrilicious smoothie)-there's NO PHOTOS of our smoothie experience so you'll just have to use your imagination!

Berri-tastic Smoothie
Handful of washed blueberries
2-4 quartered strawberries
2 large spoonfuls of fruit punch frozen concentrate
Orange juice-amount varies
Yogurt-optional

Directions
Toss all items in your blender or Magic Bullet and whir it around till it's liquefied.

I added about 1 1/2 cup of OJ for the kids smoothies so they can easily drink them from a straw but then added in a spoonful of vanilla yogurt to thicken mine up a little. If I had banana's, they'd have gone into the smoothies too!

Here's another one of the kid's FAVORITE smoothies. Milk + chocolate drink mix + ice = Choco-Moo Juice! Easy enough right? I'm so totally into making smoothies! I just need more smoothie suggestions?
