Protect A Bed Review & Giveaway!

Last week I received a Protect A Bed Premium Mattress Cover to test out in real life situations courtesy of Protect A Bed. This worked out really great for us since we just bought a new mattress right before Christmas but hubby neglected to get a new mattress cover for it. Our old mattress cover is designed for the extra tall queen size mattress but, the new mattress is a standard height. I've seen the Protect A Bed brand mattress covers in the mattress stores and jumped at the chance to try one out! Some of the great things I discovered about Protect A Bed and the Premium Mattress Cover:
  • Endorsed with the Good Housekeeping seal of approval (there's no better recommendation other than Martha Stewart's-MAYBE!)
  • Good standing with the Better Business Bureau so you know your dealing with a reputable company
  • Great design with very deep elastic pockets to fit the tall AND standard sized mattresses
  • Waterproof backing prevents spills from staining your mattress (which can void the warranty on your mattress in certain situations-your mattress will stay cleaner for longer by remaining free of bodily fluids or other liquids that may come in contact with your mattress)
  • Classified as Medical 1 devises with both Canada and the FDA
  • Prevents you from breathing in allergens and dust mites which should help anyone with asthma, allergy, and other respiratory problems
  • Comes with a 10 year warranty against fabric and manufacturing defects PLUS if sold with a mattress by an authorized dealer it includes a spillage warranty
  • Machine washable and can be dried in the dryer (NO bleach & dry on medium heat only!!!)
  • Protect A Bed offers a full line of products ranging from crib mattress protectors to pillow protectors and full encasement mattress covers.
I was very pleased at how well the mattress cover fit my mattress. It wasn't too big with a lot of excess but it wasn't so snug I had to fight with it just to get it on the mattress. It's no more difficult to slip the cover on the mattress as it is to put on a fitted sheet. Easy is what I like.

I also love the fact it's soft but waterproof. My beloved husband loves to eat his midnight snacks in bed while J Man gets his kicks and giggles watching Cartoon Network in our room so spills are inevitable. I've heard other covers make the same claim but you either get comfort or the waterproof quality. Rarely do you get both in the same product. This one is very comfortable with a soft almost velvet like top but cleans up rather easily and the best part-no more stains on my mattress! Check out my waterproof spill test video below! I was impressed.

If I were to win this cool give away, I'd choose the Protect A Bed Premium Mattress Cover in King Size. The favorite feature I found (besides the obvious ... protects from spills, stains, and fluids) was that it is cool and enhances sleeping comfort.

This is desperately needed for a couple of reasons. One, we have 2 beautiful granddaughters ages 1 & 3 and more times than not, they have fallen asleep in mamaw's bed, leaving us a present. Secondly, and mostly, I have Multiple Sclerosis and this causes incontinence issues and it's terribly embarrassing. My husband is extremely patient, but something like this would help give me a sence of security knowing if something happen, I would not be ruining our mattress.

I would need a queen size mattress cover, and I like the fact that it moderates your body temp. so it would help keep you cool in the summer.
I just found your blog and I am anxious to look around.
